How does the fractional CO2 laser work?

At Lux Medical Aesthetic Clinic, our Fractional Co2 laser for acne scar treatment works through resurfacing of the skin.

This remodels existing acne scar tissue and stimulates collagen growth to smoothen scars.

How many laser sessions will I need for Acne Scar treatment?

About 3-5 sessions of the laser treatment will be required to smoothen out the scars. Deeper or more stubborn scars may require more sessions.

For further improvement, a combination of acne scar treatment methods can help to achieve the right results.

What is the procedure like?

At Lux Medical Aesthetic Clinic, we apply numbing cream to the skin for 15-30 mins. This makes the procedure more comfortable. The fractional co2 laser beams are then directed to the skin resurface for treatment. This takes about 10-15 mins.

The procedure is associated with 2-7 days of downtime. Immediately after treatment, the skin will appear red and pinkish. In a couple of days, light brown scabs will form. It takes another few days for the scabs to fully fall off, revealing underlying smoother skin.

Can I see results instantly?

Some improvements can be seen after the initial laser treatment. As collagen stimulation takes time, these improvements will continue to improve over the next 3-6 months.

Fractional CO2 laser can help with acne scar treatments, pore refining and collagen stimulation.
