Wounds heal differently and produce different types of scars which come in all shapes and sizes.

They may also appear raised, reddish, hyperpigmented (brownish) or hypopigmented (whitish). Unsightly scars can be blended in with the rest of the skin through the use of injections or laser treatments*.

How is it done?

Raised, hypertrophic or keloid scars can be treated with a few sessions of injections. The number of sessions required depends on the size and the thickness of the scar. There is a slight risk of needle marks, bruising or skin thinning.

To lighten hyperpigmentation within the scar, the Q-Switch ND Yag laser can be used. This laser breaks up excessive pigments and brings about a lightening effect after a few sessions. To further blend in the scar with the surrounding skin tissues, fractional CO2 laser can be used to blur the edges.

While it may not be possible to completely remove or erase a scar, it is now possible to reduce and blend its appearance into the rest of the skin.
