What are Nasolabial Fillers
Nasolabial folds, also known as laugh lines, deepen when our cheeks or mid face start to sag due to volume loss or years of smiling.
Depending on the cause of the laugh lines, either cheek fillers,Β nasolabial fold fillersΒ or a combination of both can be used to rejuvenate this area.
How is it done?
Fillers can either be injected into the cheeks to lift the mid face, hence reducing the appearance of the nasolabial folds or they can be injected directly into the nasolabial folds, giving them a noticeable lift and volume replacement*. The placement of fillers into the laugh lines not only reduces the appearance of the folds but also prevents further formation of wrinkles*.
A topical numbing cream is first applied to the nasolabial folds. This is followed by one or two filler injections into each fold. The procedureΒ is quick to complete.

Major side effects are uncommon. There is little or no down time. Some possible side effects include slight swelling, bruising or needle marks, these effects usually dissipate quickly.
This depends on the amount of volume loss, correction needed and individual expectations. Typically between 1-2mls of nasolabial fold fillers will be used.
